Classification of the leather

We will tell you why we make such an accent on that we use only A class leather for our belts. Many do not pay attention to this matter, and it does not seem so important, because who cares what class of leather is cut and used to create the final product.

Let’s start with the fact that the leather is divided first from which part of the animal it is obtained. There is a back part, lateral part, head part, abdomen part and shoulder part. We use the so-called “double shoulders”, which is the both sides of the shoulder. This part is thick and dense. Our belt thickness is 3.0 – 3.4 mm, which ensures that the belt will last longer, is tightener and holes do not stretch.

How does the leather divides into the classes?

Each leather is being reviewed and divided according to its quality. The leather, from which our belts are made, is from Italy, the Alpine cow from which the skin is obtained has grown in the French alps, where there is clearly no insects and other factors that are influencing leather quality as it is with the cattle raised in Latvia. This is one of the reasons why leather is not obtained in Latvia.

There is a six-grade skin gradation:

Class A – No defects, scars, or signs.

Class B – 5-10% defects (small scars, insect bites, etc. may be present).

Class C – 10-20% defects

Class D – 20-30% defects

Class E – 30-40% defects

Class F – this usually is rejected the factory and is destroyed.

Leather, that is used for making belts in Andrii Art, in the factory, before coming to us is throughly tested to fit the needs we are seeking – to be exactly Class A leather and have the thickness we need. The manufacturer, with whom we have been working together for the long term, is very careful about this skin selection, and therefore we are able to provide our customers with high-quality, premium-grade belts.

Your perfect choice for yourself and others!
