The top notes have a dangerous sheen, like a glass of rum, like “pirate water”. It is sprinkled with cane sugar, sending sparks of toasted nuts, caramel, alcohol and smoke into the night air. As the oppressive woods die down, a softer accord begins to bloom – a wonderfully soft, nutty sandalwood, reminiscent of caramel dipped in warm milk.
